Carol Rutenberg, PresidentCarol Rutenberg, RNC-BC, MNSc, is a nationally recognized expert, speaker and author in the field of Telephone Triage. She has conducted research and has been recognized as the foremost authority on telephone triage and scope of practice. She has hands-on experience, having been a Telephone Triage nurse in both the office and call center settings and is nationally certified in Telephone Nursing Practice.  She has had papers published on Telephone Triage in such journals as the American Journal of Nursing, the Journal of Emergency Nursing, and Viewpoint, AAACN's bimonthly publication and is a member of the University of Phoenix Online faculty in the BSN program. 

Carol is currently a consultant in private practice, specializing in professional education, program design and implementation, and risk management in telephone nursing practice.  She also provides legal consultative services and has served as an expert witness in litigation pertaining to telephone triage nursing. 

Carol received her BSN from Baylor University, did graduate study in the field of adult education, and received a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing in Little Rock. She is a member of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing and serves on various committees including the Telehealth Nursing practice Administration and Practice Standards revision team in 2004 and 2006.  She is also a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, the Arkansas State Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.  She currently resides in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
